Sympathy Flower Delivery in Sydney & Brisbane

Sending sympathy flowers in the event of a death is the best way to express your own personal sorrow and empathy towards a grieving family. Based on years of industry experience, we've curated a range of appropriate flowers for sympathy gestures.

Best sympathy flowers to send

While white sympathy flowers are generally the most common choice, some people prefer opting for colour, whether it is a soft pastel pink or lush red roses that represent heartfelt love.

To respect the family's time of grieving, we would recommend keeping things as simple as possible and choosing condolence flowers already arranged in a vase, pot or gift box. This way the family does not need to worry about finding a vessel to put your blooms into. Sending a plant as an alternative to sympathy flowers is also another good option.

Do I send flowers to the funeral home, graveside ceremony or to someone's home?

Sending flowers to the home of the bereaved, funeral home or graveside will depend on the nature of your relationship to the deceased and their family. If you wanted to provide a more heartfelt and intimate gesture, then sending a bouquet or arrangement to the family home is a beautiful way to express your condolences.

Or if you feel it is more appropriate to send flowers to the funeral home or graveside ceremony, then a smaller sympathy arrangement or posy is recommended. Flowers for the casket or standing sprays are usually selected by the immediate family of the deceased.

What flowers are traditionally used for funerals?

Just as each flower type differs in its shape, size and appearance, so too do the message they convey. Knowing a flower’s unique meaning can help you express your exact sentiments through a beautiful floral arrangement. However, it’s important to be mindful that flower meanings and funeral flower etiquette can differ between certain cultures and religions. If you are unsure what to send, call our Customer Care team on 1300 664 333.

The most requested funeral flowers and their special meaning are:
